The Reclaiming the Sacred Workshop

This workshop has been designed to provide survivors of sexual abuse/assault with instruction and insight on how to create their own healing gardens, with a focus on the common struggles that they face, in a venue where they can be feel accepted without judgment or social stigma. These workshops are available to groups of men, women or mixed groups. This truly unique educational resource is the only program of its kind in Canada.

Workshops are usually scheduled as a one day event, although they may be scheduled in two parts under certain circumstances. Each workshop provides at least six hours of curriculum, which includes practical information on garden design and techniques for creating and maintaining a sacred space. Designed to be accessible for any level of gardening expertise, ideas are shared through a variety of power point presentations, handouts and group discussions.

For those qualifying organizations, the current project funding will cover the workshop instructor’s wages, mileage and accommodations, as well as all workshop materials. For information about the qualifications for funding, refer to the "Hosting a Workshop" page.
